Single file, Indian Style
Man, Canadians better be thankful they're rich, otherwise NOone would play hockey, damn.
So Its been a while, and a bunch has happened to me. I think I was talking about DJing last. I went and did that little diddy at the armory that night, and it was ok. But I cept messing up so I left early. So overall it was a bad first club djing experience, sweet. Great way to start off a blog, with uneventful, depressing news.
this weekend I went north. So very very north, to a place called John D'or Prairie. Its a little Indian reserve an hour and a half north east of high level. yes now every search for a map and try to find it. Chances are you won't cuz its nothing in nowhere. get the idea. The drive is around ten hours if your going an avg. Of 140km. Needless to say I opted out of the treck. The Principal of the comumity school offered to fly me up, to which I accepted.
When I got to the Edmonton Municipal airport, I was expecting a small plane, I had already known it was a 9 seater, but I hadn't predicted a place where I could touch the other sides window with one arm extended. On a side note, when I got home, my vball team had a Christmas party at our coaches house. His TV is wider than the plane I was on. Point is terry is mad paid. But back to the trip. After a fairly cool flight where I could peek through the cockpit and watch us land, I arrived in the growing metropolis of High Level. There where 4 people at the airport: the person picking me up, some rig pig dude picking up his wife and kid, and I assume two dudes upstairs telling the plane its ok to land.
So whats the first thing you do when you get to high level by plane? You drive to town, which is 15 mins away, and then you buy groceries, because John D'or prairie is an hour and a half drive away. It makes sense to get groceries, but its something I hadn't thought of and taken for granted. There is only one store in John D'or, and its products are as old as the store. Now this is something I wasn't expecting in a million years; they call High Level little Vegas. This is because there is a Vegas style strip with four or five hotels named after Vegas hotels with extravagant signs. i.e. Stardust, Sahara etc. Imagine driving in nothing but tree's to an opening and there in front of you is Vegas. Weird ass.
After buying groceries, we had to tackle the road to the Rez. Half of it is paved, a quarter of it is gravel, the rest is dirt. Dangerous. At some points there are signs that say "one lane traffic", and several bridges that look like they where put up during some great war. Broke ass! But finally, after driving around 140kmh, we got there.
and that is another story in itself, so you'll have to tune in later. yo click on the add so I can keep this blog going. respek to the gods, I'm out.
