Recap
Yo yooo. its Tuesday morning around ten am. I just got up. my world is pretty quiet right now. which I feel lucky for since I just contacted my agent via interwideweb, and he's uncomfortably busy. The FIVB (Federation International Volleyball) is going to pass a rule that in some shape or form will limit the number of non-patriot players playing is European leagues. the company is working at a ramming speed to keep up with the changes and make sure all their clients are taken care of. and me, well i'm wondering which cereal to have for breaky. what I'm getting at is for the next half an hour at least, i'm really enjoying the serenity.
As you might guess, I don't really have much to talk about. so if anything interesting comes of this post, it will come as the vegans say, organically.
Ok recap. last month at this point I had just finished my season playing in Sete, France. it was beautiful. yall should go if your in the south of France. its like 27 km from Montpellier, which is a bigger centre, but also an amazing Ville. So I was sitting around waiting for some Russians to send me a small piece of paper with a stamp on it so I could jump n a plane to Moscow and not be thrown in Russian jail when i got off the plane. so after waiting about a week and a half more than expected, some messenger shows up at my pad with said piece of paper. I remember him being kinda rude, even though I was visibly ecstatic at receiving the package. Anyways, I got the paper at 1pm, and was on a train to Paris by 2pm. The TGV is one of the fastest trains in the world. it hits something like 189 mph at some points. so from the southern beaches of France to the cloudy north is takes about three and a half hours, including stops.
Once in Paris, I checked into a hotel near la gare du lion which is where I had arrived and instantly figured out where the Russian conciliate is. it was already about 4 pm, so bidness would have to wait till the next day......
I apologise for what I've just written. I'm going into way to many boring details. who cares what the trains called and what time I got there. lemme skim it down for yall.
Paris one day. one day to mess with the Russian conciliate office, one day to fly to Moscow and drive to Yaroslavl. three days to hammer out a contract (which is a story in itself. it took way to long just to get all concerned parties to sign the dadgum thing), a day to drive to Moscow, fly to Paris, then take the train back to Sete. That day was a solid 17 hours of travel, so I was so happy to get 4 hours of sleep before waking up, taking a $150 cab ride to the airport in Montpellier, Flying to paris (where I was less than a day before), flying to Toronto, then finally getting to Winnipeg. BOOM DONE. well other than the flight to Edmonton the following day...
So lets recap the recap. I went to all corners of France, Russia, across an ocean and across Canada in 3 days, and only lost my bags twice. Somehow I managed to be polite to whole friggin time, and most peeps where polite back, which I'm sure that made things easier.
So now I'm back in Winnipeg. enjoying the cranberry cereal I decided on, waiting for my world to realize I'm awake so it can sweep me up in its hurricane. seriously yall, enjoy the seconds.
I wanna give a shout out to all my uncles who read my blogs, I love you very much.
