Gavin Speaks!!

Dallas soonias: For todays blog I thought I'd get back to the whole volleyball thing by interview one of the top ballers in the world. A towering almost jurassic young man by the name of Gavin Schmitt. Thanks for being with us guy.

Gavin Schmitt: Thanks for having me guy.

Dallas soonias: First off. Lemme ask you this. why the faux hawk?

Gavin Schmitt: Well you see i don't have much for entertainment out here in korea, i was bored and decided to buy some clippers to cut my hiar... i didn't want to buzz it right down to the skin but decided to do a in between real mo hawk and faux hawk much like i did in france last year.

Dallas soonias: safe. how's the season going over there? how long is it and whats hardest and easiest bout it? (The buzz on the korean forums is Gav is the greatest foreigner that korea has every had. thats the kind of impact he's havin over there. I'm just sayin.)

Gavin Schmitt: Season is going well, we are 2 wins away from a spot in the finals, we have 27 wins and 4 losses so it should happen, ontop of that i just broke the 1000 point in a season mark yesterday. Hardest thing is i think living in a dorm, i am like a wald animal and like my freedom... they have now somewhat caged me more so like a zoo kitten... not a fan...

Dallas soonias: I see, If there's one thing I hate, its going to the zoo to see something wild and dangerous and finding little kitties locked up with their balls of yarn. So if you where a Wu Tang member, who would you be?

Gavin Schmitt: you will have to excuse me, internet is like it use to be like in the good old days of dial up

Dallas soonias: I see, If there's one thing I hate, its going to the zoo to see something wild and dangerous and finding little kitties locked up with their balls of yarn. So if you where a Wu Tang member, who would you be?

Gavin Schmitt: I think i am gonna have to go with Ol' Dirty... can't really go wrong with that man, i mean sure he is dead now but he had a good run

Dallas soonias: He went on record several times promising never to reveil the wu tang secrets. in your mind, what the snap what he talking about?

Gavin Schmitt: aaawwww man, being an outsider and all one would think that i would be ok to give an opinion, but if he ain't gonna talk about it neither am i
Dallas soonias: thats very admorable of you.

Gavin Schmitt: gotta stay safe ya know, that could have people after me

Dallas soonias: I can dig it. so have you had a chance to check out the new online canadian volleyball mag?

Gavin Schmitt: i had a breif glance, but no time to read it yet, i think tonight i will sit down and have a little gander at some of the articles

Dallas soonias: cool i'll ask later. so give us a summary of how your avg. day might run.

Gavin Schmitt: lets say 6:45 wake up and weigh in (just to make sure i am not fat)
7am breakfast after which i go right back to sleep
at 9 or 11 we have wiehgts and days we don't we do extra training
lunch at noon,
practice varies in the afternoon between 2 and 4
dinner at 6
therapy at 7
video almost every night at 8 then free time for this guy

Dallas soonias: sounds pretty lax. who's the greatest most supportive funny good looking and all around awesomest roomate you've ever had

Gavin Schmitt: Well i once lived with this Dude named Dallas Soonias we became probably the only 2 members of the Charleswood crew, its a very secretive and exclusive crew, it can include harsh initiation of which being getting your *nether regions* grabbed against your will by a cambodian *lady of the night* in Barcelona, but thats another story for another time.
(this answer has been edited for the sake of the children. and really, its all for the children isn't it.)

Dallas soonias: ahh yes. on that subject, why not wrap up with a message for the kids. say your 13 and about to head into tryouts for your club team. what knowledge can you drop?

Gavin Schmitt: Uh i was once given a good piece of advice in never run bare assed backwards through a corn patch but i don't think that applies here. I think i am going to have to go with, enjoy that childhood while you can, there is nothing like living off your folks and getting a free ride, one day you will have to do it all on your own, soak it up while you can.

Dallas soonias: word of eternal truth. so in closing we've learned a lot about the ol boy Gav. maybe alittle to much about the crew he's in and the company he keeps. So we'll be following Gav's progress through playoffs and in the summer with the national team where he hopes to help team canada thunder out of their pool at he world championship in september. any thing you want to add there Gav?

Gavin Schmitt: naw keep readin, some day i will soon accomplish a guest blog about said story of barcelona, until then keep supportin, we will keep working hard

Dallas soonias: perfect, so to all our friends and supporters, thank you, and as of now I haven't found a cheeky way to close the interviews so i'm just gonna...uhh..........
