Interview with the vamp.... Sarain

The following is an interview conducted by Dallas Soonias on his brother Sarain Soonias. The purpose was to give readers an insight on Dallas family, and what they're all about.
Dallas: Alright you ready sucka? Sarain: I'm Wade in the clutch, lets do this! D: I'm not, give me 2 mins. i need water
(two mins later)
alright, before we get started tell us what sarain soonias is all about?
S: Bottom line, I just wanna dance.
D: yes, i've seen you cut mad rugs. with the soul of a young Sam Cook. What is your fav. Color?
S: Black
D: please, digress .
S: I"m not sure what digress means.
D: I'm probably saying it wrong. like... explain yourself.
S: About the colour?
D: ya man...
six mins pass with no response.
D: ok. lets just move on like this is going really well...
S:I dunno. I guess I just don't feel like I can identify with bright, happy colours very much. Black is just more comfortable for me i guess.
D: thats respect. Mines baby blue. Alright. check it, who your fav. rapper in Jurrasic 5?
S: The cat with the deep ass voice. Whats that brothers name? Tuna?
D: oh ya charli 2na. I'm big on him. so is my girlfriend; did you know he's on tour with Dan the automator right now?
S: Dan the Automator gets slept on like Nique in the '88 dunk contest
D: I agree, but most great producers don't get the credit they deserve. i think thats why they're producers and not rappers. they might like it that way. Next question: If you woke up tomorrow in poland, Whats the first 5 things you would do?
S: Ask you where I could get a good breakfast. Flush the toilet see if it flushes the opposite way as North America. Check out your theory about Polish women having big heads. Have some coffee and put on some clothes. Rock Star I'm not.
D: I see. What are you goals for 2009?
S: I'd like be writing for several major publications and being happy doing it. Also, in no particular order: Playing in a garage band with Tico, being able to say I dunked between my legs, being close with my family, and not having any kids. Also two chicks at once hahahha. Just kidding, but seriously....two chicks.
D: Props to Office Space. what plans have you made for your upcoming road trip with your brother and nefew; and what actions have you taken to ensure these plans come to fruition?
S: Trying not to spend all my busted-ass drug money in one spot, and cruising the mall parkinglot for Volkswagon vans with keys in the ignition. But Sarain Soonias is one man, its gonna take a group effort to get out of that trip alive.
D: ya you don't hear many crazy stories about one person road trips. have you heard the new roots album yet? your thoughts?
S: Nah I haven't heard that jam yet. I'm what you might call "out of touch" when it comes to any current music. But I watched an episode of Flava of Love a few weeks ago if that counts for anything.
D: yes it counts. except flav has not had a jam on the charts since the early ninties. but thats current enough for our purposes. what is a question you would like answered by the people of poland?
S:Do ya'll have Miami Vice on the cable?
D: where's the beef??? So why'd you play basketball over volleyball?
S: I actually really liked vollleyball at a young age but then I just started playing ball and loving my mans' Magic and Larry Bird. I dunno, I just always loved how I was able to express myself through playing the game.
D: ...Man there's like 10 people in poland who know who Magic and Larry Bird are.

I don't care, Go kiss someone... (as long as its voluntary)

This post is dedicated to the women in my life. My moms, Amanda, and a certain young lady in BC named Betty.
I'm battling a cold or something right now. That Polish flu is going around. i wanna give props to the stray dogs in the park across from my apartment. they keep the ground nice and green with their natural fertilizer.
AAAANYways. I was in practise today, and I'm feeling a bit under the weather(remember I have the bubonic cold), and I'm thinking, OK, two hours. just get through it. as we warmed up by jogging/fast walking around the vball court, I realized, I got the wrong attitude right from the get go. sure I'm feeling like a bag of smashed perogies, but the next two hours, is all I got. For real. like what am i waiting for. I guess its that Carpe Diem thing. I'm sure I spelt that wrong. anyways, to alll the munchkins out there. make use of your time. cuz life is short. even when it sucks, make the best of it, cuz things could be worse, beleive me. damn. Plus its Valentine's day. so go kiss your sweetie. and if you don't have a sweetie, get one. its that's easy. just ask him/or her. do it. i dare you. and if that doesn't work, send some flowers to your moms. that's what I did. jeepers that's what I still do. alrighty. i'll tell you guys how our last few games went tomorrow. respect.

Best Fan Klub(s) Ever

For you people who don't understand Plagiarism, I straight up thiefed some articles from different websites, so don't get mad at me for publishing someone elses opinions.

Check this out. My team has TWO fan klubs! we're the only team in Poland like this. We got the Jadar Radom fans, and the Czarni Radom fans. Two separate groups of fan cheering for the same team. I didn't understand this at first, fact i still don't completely. At one of our away games, i noticed there was two large banners with our team name, and the oppositions name as per usual, but then another large group of fans entered the gym also cheering for Radom.

So I asked a teammate what the dealio was, and in broken English they explained the following:

The Czarni are loyalists of the old Radom sport Klub. Two years ago, the volleyball Klub in Radom was Called Czarni Radom. It had been here for 80 years. and from what I gather, it had financial troubles, and had to close. At this point a whole new Klub was started sponsored by a corporation called Jadar, which it is still owned by today. When the new Klub was started, a new Fan klub came with it.

Now this is the conflict, The loyalists want the name of the Klub to be Czarni Jadar Radom, or Jadar Czarni Radom, but because of some rule pertaining to taxes, this is impossible, and the loyalists are pissed.

So thats the basics. So these two clubs come to all the games, they sit on opposite parts of the gym, and cheer their hearts out for us (and when they have a free moment, they yell at each other). Its great... the cheering for us part that is. Personally I think in this situation, a name is just a name, and the team is what matters, but I haven't been part of this city very long, so I can't really understand.

If you want to check it out, go to http://www.czarni.pl/ to see the Czarni, and go to http://www.ksjadar.pl/ and click Klub Kibica to see the Jadar fans.

From what i can tell, both groups of people enjoy the matches, and support us to the fullest; basically doing the same things. Its to bad a label gets in the way of these fans coming together.

p.s.

when you leave comments leave your first and last name so I can respond.

Production

Rza keeps it razor sharp. When people talk about Rap and Hip-Hop, Theyusually talk about the 50 cents, and Eminems, and Ja Rule’s and what not. This is because they are what the mass of people hear, and more importantly see most of. People forget that the reason these artists are where they are today is, beside having massive marketing campaigns put on by their record labels, they got lucky and rapped over a sick beat.

There are there are thousands of seriously legit rappers on street corners all over the 5 boroughs of New York, the slums of Detroit, and the boardwalks of So Cal. The problem is, none of these Artists with true talent are ever going to make it anywhere without that breakout head-bumpin' beat. This is wear the Producer comes in. The Producer is the man/or woman (big shout out to Alicia Keys), who creates the music for the rapper to rhyme over. This "beat" is what catches the ears of the public. Once a listener hears the music and they start bobbing their head to it that means they recognize the "break-beat loop" of the track. At this point the artist begins voicing the lyric. Again, I will repeat till I’m blue in the face: it’s only possible to blow up when you got that fat beat.

Now back to the point...Rza. I have often wondered, who is the best? Who can create the illest beats with any sound they hear? Who has the genius to put multiple songs together, and create music? Most Hip-Hop heads will quickly make a case for artists like Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson, Pete Rock, or Marley Marl. While a case can be made for each producer's greatness, the arguement over who is the best begins and ends with The Rza.

The Rza was born Robert Diggs in Brownsville, Brooklyn, NYC on July 5, 1969. Growing up the Rza had a knack for business and an ear for music. He and one of his future Clan members had newspaper schemes in which they would find ways to make more money than the average seller. When and if he ever had spare cash, he would buy vinyl records where ever he could get them. He indisciminately enjoyed all types of genres. From classical jazz to Disney albums, he’d pick it up. This is what started his obsession with beat creation.

As a youth, Robert, his friend and cousin Gary Grice (the Gza) would sneak into New York's seedy movie theatres. These theaters is were the two began their obsession with the culture of Kung Fu; which ultimately influenced them enough to label their rap-group The Wu-Tang Clan.

It is clear to hear when one listens to Wu's debut album, Enter The Wu Tang, that the album is almost completely produced by the Rza. His production style found him regarded as a pioneer, in the same air of Grandmaster Flash and DJ Premier. He refers to his sound as "dirty and grimy", producing a sound so full of raw emotion that its nearly impossible to not bang your head to.

I started listening to Wu-Tang and Rza's beats almost a decade after its peek on the charts. I’m thankful for this because I could absorb the genius of the music without a sense of chasing the latest "it" group in on the hip-hop landscape. I could never be able to simply follow the orders fed to me by the major record labels. That being said, I think its high time to start bouncing your head to the Rza, because you will no doubt claim, “hey I’ve heard this on a (insert name of current hip-hop star)", only to learn that the Rza and his Wu Tang-Clan did it a ten years earlier.
