playoffs are funny like that.

So i'm 25 years old now.  that snuck up on me.  I don't feel much different.  maybe a small false sense of "I know a thing or two".  I know I got heaps to learn about urverything, and probably most about the things I think i already know.

I forgot how much NOFX rocks.  it blows my mind that I was rocking to them ten years ago.  I'm currently listening to an album from 12 years ago and I can remember when it was new.  Man,  I was a little shit punk.  To think of what my life was about the first time I heard this album... man,  how did I end up in front of a laptop in the south of france playing sports professionally.  anyways, i should move on.

Fastforward to now.  I just had my birthday again and it was pretty hectic.  My team was in Portiers for the second match of our quarter final.  Already we'd put this league on its head by not only sneaking into playoffs after a tragic regular season, but we'd just won the first match of a best of three series beating the first ranked team in the league (we were ranked 8th, last in playoffs).  Needless to say, things went well on the 25th of april.  we beat the home team in an intense match and plowed into the semi-finals and a birth into a european cup next year.  Man,  what a silly few weeks.

My body kinda hurts; for the first time this year my knees are starting to tell me "slow down there old balls".  Its not like I have any sharp shooting pain,  just a long drawn out dull pain encompassing both knees.  I guess thats why they pay people to play.  times like this u gotta push.  hey, its playoffs.  anyways,  I should sleep cuz I gotta knock this cold so I don't collapse in the middle of the second set wednesday night.  Either way, win or loose,  I'm simply enjoying myself now.  All this is just icing on the cake.  the cherry on my sundae, the charlie2na to my jurassic 5, the beauty mark on my Cindy Crawford.  Man I must be old if I can remember Cindy Crawford.  that girls old new....kinda like me.  PEACE!

Ain’t nobody gonna mess with Soonias, cuz Soonias gonna wup your monkey ass

I’ve been trying to figure out what to write a blog about.  I don’t wanna just blab and blab about some buuuuull that no one cares about.

I Hate days without music.  Music seems to hold my whole shit together.

So Montpellier University Volleyball Club beat Paris Volley 3-0 in the last game of the regular season and snuck into playoffs.  Imagine that!  We done messed around a made the postseason.  Even an hour before the match I thought for sure there was no way we were making playoffs.  In fact for weeks, most dudes on the squad thought we were finished.  Ain’t that something.  For some odd reason, we kept givin er hell every weekend and greased a few points here and there and got to the top eight.  Personally it felt really good to beat Paris because up until last night, every time I had played against Paris I had played tragically.  Not unlike an AWEsome junior high volleyball player thrown in a match against pro’s, or entering a fast horse in the Kentucky derby only to be ridden by Dwight Howard.  So needless to say it felt good to stick it to em.  I remember when I had just started playing this game, and started researching the best players in Canada, I discovered quite a few of them played for Paris at one point or another.  So to go up against the team has always meant a bit more to me.  Anyways I’m peacocking myself up.  Paris was lacking a starting player so I’m still motivated to take it to them again.

So it looks like the earliest we could be done now is april 25th which is my Burf day.  And that’s got me tickled.  And if we’re not done at that point, that would mean we won, and moved on to the next round, and that too would be neato.

So this is quite a nice moment.  Now I’ll get to stay in France long enough to fix this squirrely tooth that I’ve had 5 appointments with a dentist already to deal with.  So that a bonus, cuz dentists take forever in Canada.

So currently, as I sit on this train speeding through the middle of France, enjoying the hills and rich greenery as its speeds by, I have quite a pleasant disposition.   Also its sunny and I get to spend another week in the south of France.  Word up to that.

So that bout rounds up current events.  …ummmm…. Oh Rhymefest put out a new mixtape you can download and you know it’s entertaining; some might say, off the hook or heezee.  Of course I can’t wait to get home, but I gotta go to work Kool Moe Dee.
